Can I still edit my applicant profile after I have submitted my application?

Unfortunately, once posted you are not able to revise your application itself. However, you can update the personal data in your Tchibo applicant profile and upload new documents. These would be included if you make a further application. However, if you urgently need to change something in your submitted application or if you have forgotten an important document, please send us an e-mail to studentenbetreuung@tchibo.de, stating the job title and your full name.

How long does the application process take?

The duration of the application process may vary, depending on the position applied for and the number of applicants we receive. However, we will do our best to provide you with feedback on the status of your application as quickly as possible and will keep you informed about the process at all times.

Can I send my documents to an e-mail address instead?

No. Please apply exclusively via our online portal for the position that interests you. This is the fastest way for us to view and evaluate your documents. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the person listed for your desired position.

I don’t speak German, does it make sense for me to apply?

German is our company language and there are only a few teams that (exclusively) speak English. Therefore, we only consider applicants with German language skills at level B2 or higher, unless otherwise stated in the job advertisement. If German is not your native language, please attach a certificate of German proficiency with your application. 

At what point in my studies can I start the trainee program?

We do not have a fixed starting point and are flexible according to your wishes. However, you should not be too far from your graduation date (max. 3 months).

Do I need a master’s degree in order to join the training programme?

No, it suits us if you have completed an apprenticeship or have a bachelor's degree, for example.

Is there a chance of being taken on after an internship at Tchibo?

After successfully completing your Tchibo internship, you have several options for staying with us: We would be happy to support you with your final thesis or welcome you as a working student. Once you have completed your studies, if there is an interesting position available for you and you are a good match, you would have the option of starting your career directly! In addition to requiring that you are a good professional and personal fit, you may also need a bit of luck.

What is involved in the application process for an internship at Tchibo?

Once your online application has been received, the relevant department will review your documents. The second step is a virtual interview via Microsoft Teams with the relevant contact person from your desired department. What if it looks like a good fit? Then we look forward to welcoming you to Tchibo soon!

For which study programmes are there internships at Tchibo?

We mainly look for students who are majoring in economics, industrial engineering, textiles and apparel, communication sciences or business informatics. However, other courses of study may also be welcome. A Tchibo internship is possible in almost all departments of the company, for example:

- Marketing

- Controlling

- Logistics

- Human Resources

- Purchasing

- Sales and Distribution

- Product Management

How much are interns at Tchibo paid?

Of course, we pay you a fair salary, regardless of whether it's a mandatory or voluntary internship! If you stay with us for longer than three months, you will currently receive 2,112 euros gross per month.

For shorter internships, bachelor's students receive 800 euros per month, and those already with a bachelor's degree receive 900 euros. You can find current vacancies in the job search!

Can I also apply for an internship that is shorter than six months?

To ensure that you have enough time during your Tchibo internship to make a good impression and become a fully-fledged team member, the normal duration of our internships is six months. We sometimes do offer internships for three months, but the desired duration of the internship is always specified in the job advertisement.

Are there feedback interviews and an internship certificate?

In addition to the final interview, an interim feedback session will take place at the midpoint of your internship period to support your further development. Of course, if you experience problems, you can contact us at any time during the internship.

At the end of your internship with us, you will receive an internship certificate. The student support team will also be available to you during your Tchibo internship to answer any questions you may have regarding performance assessment.

What special qualities should I possess in order to have a chance of getting an internship?

Above all, you should have the desire to advance exciting projects with us! And if you ideally have six months to spare and are at least in your third semester, then you have fulfilled the basic requirements. What's most important to us is that you're excited about an internship and want to make a difference as part of our team.

Is there an option to write my final thesis at Tchibo?

Once you have successfully completed an internship with us, then you will also have the opportunity to write your thesis with us. We will support you with knowledge, experience and tips to advance those last few meters before you graduate.
